The massive 12th/13th century fortress overlooking the charming medieval burg underwent numerous changes over time, starting in the 15th century, at the hands of the House of Rangoni, the feudal lords of Loggiano, and ending in the 20th century, when it housed the town hall.
Il possente edificio due-trecentesco che domina il suggestivo borgo medievale, ha subito diverse modificazioni nel corso del tempo, dapprima nel XV secolo ad opera dei Rangoni, signori di Longiano, e nel secolo scorso, allorchè divenne sede della residenza municipale.
