The home where Raffaele Bendandi (1893-1979), the renowned Faenza-born seismologist and astronomer lived, worked, and made numerous important scientific discoveries, especially regarding earthquakes, has now been converted into a museum. Visitors can learn about the scientist’s life and work thanks to documents, monographs, articles, books, furniture, personal belongings, photographs, and some of his instruments. Some of the museum-home’s most interesting items include examples of home-made seismographs, which are still functioning, and the “fixed planetarium” painted on the vault of the cellar by the Franciscan friar Giovanni Lambertini.
