Established in 1998, it traces Ducati’s history of motorcycle racing between the end of the Second World War and today. The opening display of electrical, radio, photographic and film equipment – representing the earliest products that made the brand famous – allude to the tradition and establishment of the company in the early 1920s. The heart of the itinerary is the presentation of 26 motorcycles, displayed in nine “segments” along an illuminated circular “track”, in the centre of which a structure shaped like a giant helmet holds a multimedia hall. Opening around them are six rooms with engines and components, drawings, photographs, brochures and historic videos of Ducati’s mechanical techniques and most important racing achievements. They illustrate the various motorcycles made over the years and thus reconstruct their entire development: from the “Cucciolo”, first produced in 1946, to the application of the desmodromic distribution technology distinguishing Ducati engines, and the “Marianna”, the three-shaft engine with a dual parallel cylinder arrangement and the type with pinion sets, to the “Pantah”, as well as more recent racing models that have competed in the “Superbike” category. The gift shop sells clothing, posters, books and Ducati gadgets.
